It’s no secret that Meghan Markle has become a fashion icon over the last few years. But even before her stint as the Duchess of Sussex, the former actress always boasted enviable style. While her royal wardrobe hasn’t always been the most accessible (or affordable), she has expertly incorporated a number of timeless and obtainable outfits for us mere mortals to replicate.

As Meghan and Harry stepped out this past weekend for their last royal engagements, she effortlessly rocked three bold and vibrant selections. Like many, I can’t help but be excited for what is to come now that she is seemingly free of the royal rules. But in the meantime, it doesn’t hurt to take a look back on some of her most successful outfits.

one. funnel neck sweater and classic skinnies

This outfit topped my list of favorites for its ease and comfort factors. For their 2018 visit to Birmingham, the fabulous Meghan Markle sported this AllSaints sweater, simple black skinny trousers, and a pair of black pumps. This example of color blocking is also one of the easiest to recreate.

two. midi skirt and wool coat

This is hardly the first time Meghan has added a pop of green into her wardrobe, and will certainly not be the last. This outfit was appropriately worn during a surprise trip to Ireland and is made complete with a Mackage coat, Charlotte Elizabeth bag, and a Victoria Beckham top. This look is another perfect example of successful color blocking that can easily be worn in warmer or cooler months.

three. all black

Simply put, these wide legged trousers are effortlessly cool. During the couple’s trip to Edinburgh, Meghan sported this pair of Veronica Beard pants and a simple black sweater by Wolford. Well tailored clothes are the key to so many chic outfits, and these pants are a perfect fit.

four. classic in black and white

Meghan Markle Casual Royal Style

To kick off the Invictus Games in Sydney, Markle and Prince Harry sported matching shirts. But to elevate the look, Meghan paired hers with a simple white blazer and her signature skinny jeans, making this outfit the perfect example of casual-chic.

five. two-tone perfection

This simple swing dress with a color blocked skirt is one of my favorites of Meghan’s. This navy and cornflower blue design from Roksanda Ilinčić is the perfect mix of formal and youthful. The length adds sophistication while the color and fit keep this look young and fresh. I would wear this dress in a heartbeat!

six. classic suit

This suit may be Givenchy, but it is one of Meghan’s easiest looks to recreate. A fitted blazer, classic white tee, and fitted trousers are all you need to get this classic outfit. Tie it all together with a belt and clutch and you have yourself a winner.

seven. cozy and chic

Meghan Markle

While shopping in London, Meghan was spotted in this Express jacket, matching scarf, and Mother Denim jeans. By pairing a fitted bottom with an oversized top, this outfit strikes the perfect balance.

eight. statement jacket

It’s no secret that Meghan has an incredible coat collection, and this Club Monaco trench is arguably the most versatile in her closet. Paired with Outland Denim jeans and lace up Stewart Wietzman boots, this outfit stands out as one of my favorites.

nine. baby blues

Pregnant Meghan Markle Goes Casual for Lunch with New Press Secretary in London

Meghan’s pregnancy wardrobe was filled with stylish maternity numbers, but the rare opportunity to see her in ripped denim checked all the effortless style boxes. She layered a cozy navy peacoat over her turtleneck sweater and paired the look with her signature nude heals and Mulberry bag.

ten. the power coat

This Stella McCartney coat is one of my favorite’s, but unfortunately both it, and all of the knockoffs, have long since sold out. This look would normally be frowned upon by royal standards (black is only to be worn when in mourning), but for us common folk it is all the more relatable.

What are your favorite Meghan Markle looks? I know there are a few examples I am dying to try with the pieces I have in my own wardrobe!
