I Am Human.

03/04/2017 0 Comments

I was recently inspired by the beautiful, ethereal, and amazing Morgan (@the_southern_yogi) and her “I Am Human” post on Instagram. If you aren’t aware of what I am talking about, I suggest you head on over to her account, follow her, and then take a look at this post right here. It resonated with me, and it made me stop and think about myself.

Take a pen and paper, or a note on your phone, and jot down the things you dislike about yourself. Those tiny habits or insecurities or characteristics about yourself that you see in a negative light.

Then write about your strengths; the things that make you unique. The parts of you that you are grateful for, and love about yourself.

It is a wonderful way to look inward. Even if you never share it, I encourage you guys to try it for yourselves sometime.

I am deathly afraid of failure, and can be extremely shy.

I can take things too personally, and hold grudges for longer than I should.

I am a pro at over thinking, and I worry. A lot.

About my future, about how others perceive me…about how I perceive myself.

I wish my top lip was fuller, and that my face was a bit more symmetrical.

When I love I love hard, but it takes a lot for me to open up and trust.

I protect the people I love fiercely, and I put everyone else before myself.

Sometimes I think that it’s my greatest weakness, but I think it’s also why I am so loyal, and loving.

I just want to make people happy, even if that means making myself sad.

I am a fan of hugs that last just a little bit too long, sunny days at the beach, and eating breakfast for dinner.

I think music sounds better in the dark.

You can call me any time and I will listen. I like to think I am good at that.

I can be goofy and ridiculous.

My laughter lines are my favorite feature, they remind me of how many things I have to smile about every day.

I love finding new words, quotes, and books to read.

And I love coffee shops even though I don’t drink coffee.

I still don’t know who I am yet, but I know the type of person I want to be.

One who puts kindness first.

One who leaves people better than I found them.

One who isn’t afraid to fall, or fail, and who isn’t defined by people, places or things but by my heart.

I am not perfect.

I am starting to realize that being imperfect is exactly what makes me special.

I am Kelly,

I am human.

xx Kelly
