Mango Smoothie Bowl Recipe Made Easy

05/13/2016 0 Comments

Happy Friday, everyone! I am starting off the day with this delicious mango smoothie bowl that I’ve whipped up. I don’t know about you, but smoothie bowls are just so fun to me. Someone broke the rules and threw their smoothie into a bowl one day and I am forever grateful for their rebellion. This one actually turned out to be one of my favorite recipes yet.

I’ve been feeling a little under the weather and have a sore throat so this sweet treat is hopefully going to make me feel better today. It’s also starting to warm up where I live so this bowl is super refreshing! We’ve been having a lot of rain in my neck of the woods lately and it’s so depressing. Smoothie bowls and good weather go perfectly together, you can’t look at this bowl with all the colors and not feel happy.

For this recipe I prepped the night before by cutting up some pineapple and banana and placing them into freezer bags to freeze overnight. I try and keep some frozen bananas in the freezer at all times now just in case! You can also by pre-packaged frozen fruits but the bananas you will have to freeze yourself. Alright, lets get started!

1 frozen banana

1 cup frozen pineapple

almond milk

frozen mango

1 tsp vanilla extract

In a blender (I use a Ninja Blender) combine frozen banana, frozen pineapple, frozen mango (to taste), almond milk and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth, but try to keep the mixture on the thicker side. This means adding milk as you go to ensure that the smoothie does not become too watery. Once blended, pour the smoothie into a bowl and quickly add toppings of choice. Here I used kiwi, sliced strawberry, sliced banana, blueberries, chia seeds and shredded coconut. This recipe would make you one large serving or two smaller servings, so cut back on some of the ingredients if you just want a smaller serving for yourself.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! If you have any other smoothie bowl recipes that you like feel free to leave me a comment below.

xx Kelly

This looks SO good! I’ve never added mango into a smoothie before but I can imagine it’s delicious! I may have to half the amount of banana though as my palette seems to pick that up more than any other fruit even with half!! Thanks so much for sharing xx
