Top Interior Design Trends for Fall 2017

09/17/2017 0 Comments

Just like our counterparts in the world of fashion, interior design changes seasonally; new collections from top designers are presented with much anticipation and everyone in the design world is always eager to see what new and interesting trend is being introduced. While some trends stretch far beyond their intended season, others are simply re-introduced or reinvented in new ways, and this fall is no exception!

Here is what we’re seeing:

Bold, Moody & Rich Colors (think emeralds, navy’s, grey’s and black)

This darker take on design has been fully embraced for the fall. Whether it be used in pops of color or enveloping the entire space, these deep, rich hues are everywhere. Here are a few great ways to incorporate this into your space with paint or furniture.

Large Scale Floral Wallpapers & Murals

This might be the trend I have seen the most when being presented with new collections and lines for fall. Wallpaper is definitely back and has been for a while, but the influx of large scale floral patterns and more specifically murals is evident. Each brand is coming out with some take on this concept and the results are beautiful and unique statement pieces that transform any room.

Chunky, Tonal Textures

The growing popularity of Scandinavian design plays a large role in this, but these chunky textures can be seen in rugs (sisal’s and jute’s), fabrics, throws and even furniture. These elements help create a more casual and relaxed atmosphere and bring lots of visual interest to your space.

Natural Materials & Surfaces

Think wood, stone, concrete, wicker, and grasscloth. One of my favorite trends is the use of concrete for tiles, counter tops, and flooring. Mixing some more industrial elements with warmer metals like cooper and brass creates a really intriguing dynamic, while reclaimed wood can help to warm up any home. As a bonus, both concrete and reclaimed wood are great budget saving options!
