One of my most frequently asked questions as someone who works in the interior design field is where I like to shop. Many of my friends and family members are in the process of buying a home or redoing their current homes and looking for quality products at an affordable price. While majority of the items I source for my clients are at a higher price point, it is not one I (or my friends) can personally afford. Over the years I have discovered and grown to love many budget-friendly brands that offer the same unique style and trends at a fraction of the cost. If there is one thing you should know about design, it is that there really is something for everyone at every price point.

This past weekend I was at a bachelorette party and many of the girls were looking for inexpensive suggestions, so I decided to put together a blog post! While there are tons of great companies out there, these five are the ones I revisit and repurchase from the most. As with anything at a lower price point, they are not meant to last forever. But design has been changing over the last ten years, and now clients aren’t looking for “forever pieces” like they once were. Many people are designing with the intention of switching things up in five years time, which makes these companies an ideal solution for anyone on a smaller budget. Happy shopping!

For Furniture:

This California based brand sells exclusively online, and is a one stop shop for anyone on a budget. Whether you’re decorating one room or your entire house, there is something for everyone at Lulu & Georgia. The brand curates and creates the latest trends, making them accessible to anyone anywhere. Some of my favorite products are their budget friendly rugs and mid-century modern furniture pieces. This brand is always fluctuating and changing as the trends do, so be sure to keep an eye on their website. Once something is gone there is no telling if it will be gone for good!

Article

In keeping with the trend of mid-century modern style, Article is another excellent online source for furniture pieces. The brand is embracing the no showroom, no sales people, no fuss mentality and cutting out the “unnecessary layers” of buying furniture. As someone who directs and sources furniture and decor for a living I can’t say I completely agree with this approach, but I do love their furniture. The prices are fair, the pieces are unique, and the service from what I have heard is unparalleled. Currently Article is available in the U.S. and Canada with expansion plans in the works!

For Accessories:

Society 6

Society 6 is one of my favorite places to buy accessories, specifically artwork. Much of the artwork I own has been ordered through this website, and I would highly recommend it to any of my friends, family, or clients. The brand is constantly having sales on their pieces and switching up their inventory. Many of the featured artists are based in the United States as well, and I always appreciate a brand shedding a light on the little guy. Society 6 also offers customizable stationary and apparel, and has some adorable and stylist pre-mede throw pillows as well.

Shop unique and original art prints on Society6. Society6 is home to hundreds of thousands of artists from around the globe, uploading and selling their original works as 30+ premium consumer goods from Art Prints to Throw Blankets. They create, we produce and fulfill, and every purchase pays an artist.

Anthropologie

When it comes to lifestyle brands, it really don’t get much better than Anthropologie. Personally I find that some of my best accessories and gifts come from here, and with such a unique and ever changing inventory, it’s easy to find that special piece for your home here. The other plus to shopping at Anthrologie is the ability to look at items in stores. While shopping online can be a great convenience to many, sometimes you need to see and touch an object in person before making the splurge.

Some of my favorite pick ups are coffee table books, toss pillows, bedding, cutlery and dinnerware, and their amazing throw blankets. It is worth mentioning that their outdoor furniture line is also impressive and worth a look if you’re in the market!

Overstock has been my one stop shop for bed linens and rugs for years. We have purchased numerous rugs from this website to use in our showroom displays and have had excellent luck with all of them, not to mention the price is right! If you’re looking for something to last you a few years and not set you back thousands of dollars then Overstock is the brand for you. Be on the lookout for their sales throughout the year to shave off some extra savings.
