Hey everyone, it’s been a while! I hope you all are happy and healthy; this is a difficult time for many and the goal of this post is to bring you some happiness. My quarantine has been extremely productive thus far, mostly because it has inspired me to GET STUFF DONE. There are so many projects around our house that I have wanted to tackle but never seem to find time for, and this bathroom makeover was always number 1 on my list.

I won’t lie, money is getting tight. So I knew I had to do this job on a realistic budget. I allotted $500.00 for this room, and to my delight I came in under budget. A whole $85.91 short to be exact! Proof that anyone can make impactful change with smart planning and lots of online shopping from home. Cause, you know…#stayhome.

I kept the existing paint color, Benjamin Moore’s “Smoke Embers” on the wall and added a pop of color by painting the vanity. The light oak cabinet had not been touched since we moved in fifteen years ago and was in desperate need of some TLC. I chose Benjamin Moore “Hale Navy” which matches our kitchen cabinets and is truly the perfect navy blue.

By the toilet, I added a natural wood shelf with matte black hardware. I picked this up from Target for a steel, and it was the perfect place to add my bathroom necessities and add a little styling. To save money, I ended up spray painting all of the existing hardware matte black with a can of spray paint which brought the whole room together. New baskets for trash and extra toilet rolls added some texture.

For the window treatments, I removed the old dated blinds and installed a matte black curtain rod. The window is a very specific size in this room, and opens by sliding left to right so I know I needed a curtain. I picked up a second shower curtain to match and ended up creating one. I cut the fabric to the appropriate length, then used curtain rings to hang it. This was one of my favorite changes in this bathroom makeover. A new light fixture, towels and some art work and this place was finished!
